Measure V dollars are currently being used on three large modernization projects. At Hart High School $30 million is being spent in the modernization of 80 percent of the classrooms, the addition of a new science building, and expansion of the music building. The modernization at Hart is a 16 month project that began June 6, 2009, and will be completed in August 2010. A $9 million modernization of Placerita Junior High including the renovation of the library, fine and practical arts classrooms, science classrooms, a computer lab, the gymnasium and locker rooms, the multi-purpose room, and the administration office will be completed in August 2009. Modernization of Sierra Vista Junior High School is also currently in process with more that $13 million in renovations and improvements scheduled over the next 16 months. At the conclusion of this project in August 2010, all of the classrooms areas will have received modernization as well as the library, administration building, and all student restrooms.
